Human beings, animals, plants, air, water and soil are the main elements of the environment. Our environment is being polluted ceaselessly every moment. Pollution is the introduction of pollutants into the natural environment that cause adverse effects. As with the increase of population, the number of mills, factories and vehicles increases, they produce more toxic fumes and more carbon mono-oxide which cause air pollution. People may suffer from coughing, asthma and other respiratory problems when air is polluted. Even in the ground we walk is polluted by garbage. The present condition of our mighty rivers is very deplorable. A few of them are already dead and several of them are going through the pangs of death. People pollute river water by dumping huge quantities of toxic chemicals and wastes from mills and factories, hospitals and clinics and households into it. Though we cannot completely get rid of these pollutions, we can reduce and control it enormously. We have to take precautionary measures to control these pollutions. I think consciousness among the general people about various types of pollution is the first initiative to reduce these pollutions. Planting more trees is a precondition of reducing air pollution.
