Greenhouse effect paragraph: The green house effect means the gradual warming of the air surrounding the earth. It is a result of heat being trapped by environment pollution. The carbon dioxide is also responsible for it. As a result of burning coal and oil, carbon dioxide is produced. Because of the green house effect the ice covering the North and South poles is melting. It may raise sea level. As a result the southern part of Bangladesh and some other costal countries may go under water. Animals and plants are endangered with the threat of extinctions. Many natural disasters are the effects of it. Tree plantation programme should be taken soon. Steps should be taken to stop the production of carbon dioxide.

Greenhouse Effect

Paragraph on Greenhouse Effect: The greenhouse effect is a threat to the existing human beings, animals, plants, and above all, all the phenomena of the world. It is associated with global warming. The temperature of the world is increasing gradually. Carbon dioxide is the main culprit of Greenhouse. It is being deposited gradually in the atmosphere. It is generally produced when fossil fuel is burnt. Carbon dioxide entraps the heat in the atmosphere. As a result, the temperature of the world is on the increase. CFC contributes devastatingly to the greenhouse effect. We use the refrigerator in our daily life that is also producing CFC. Many companies are using CFC for manufacturing goods, packaging commercial products, aerosol, etc. This CFC is responsible to a great extent for the greenhouse effect. The adverse effect of the greenhouse is very disastrous. It is feared that by the mid-century the world temperature will increase 4-degree Celsius. The polar ice caps have started to melt. The sea level is rising. Consequently, the lower regions of the world will go underwater, and the southern regions of Bangladesh will also go underwater. This catastrophic disaster must be checked. It is to be done to save our existence.

Greenhouse Effect

In cold countries, green plants and vegetables are grown in glass houses where sun-rays necessary for trees are trapped. As a result, cold air cannot harm them. But the heat trapped in this system cannot go out of this earth. For this reason, our atmosphere which is guarded by an ozone layer cannot resist the entrance of ultraviolet rays from the sun. This causes the increase of temperature in the atmosphere which has an adverse effect. This is called the greenhouse effect. The main effect of the greenhouse is the increase of carbon-di-oxide. With the increase of carbon dioxide, the temperature of the earth is becoming hotter day by day. So, the ice in the polar regions is melting and if this process continues for a long time the level of water in the seas will rise and thereby flood coastal areas and farmlands will go under water. The alarming news about Bangladesh is that for the rise of the sea level, the lower southern part of the country may one day go under water. So, deliberate cutting down of forests must be stopped, a tree plantation programme must be made momentous and sources of emitting carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide should be controlled.

Greenhouse Effect

The rise in atmospheric temperature is known as the greenhouse effect. The carbon dioxide is primarily responsible for temperature rise in the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide is given off when coal and oil are burnt. As a result, the ice covering the North and South poles is melting and may eventually lead to a rise in sea levels which can flood many areas of the world. Scientists have already given warning that some parts of coastal countries including Bangladesh may go under water due to the greenhouse effect. The total area of deserts is increasing every year. Many species of animals and plants are endangered with the threat of extinction. Cutting down of forests indiscriminately is the main culprit for global warming. Tree plantation program should be adopted soon. Steps should be taken to put an end to the causes and sources of emitting carbon dioxide. These are the measures we can take with a view to preventing global warming.

Write a paragraph in about 200 words on ‘Greenhouse Effect‘ by answering the questions

  • What is the greenhouse effect?
  • What are the causes of the greenhouse effect?
  • What will happen if the world’s temperature keeps on rising?
  • What is the threat to Bangladesh?
  • How can this problem be solved?

Answer:

Green House Effect

The greenhouse effect is the process by which the air surrounding the earth is becoming warmer day by day. In other words, it is the gradual warming of the air which ultimately results in the gradual increase in the world temperature. In short, we know the rise in atmospheric temperature as the greenhouse effect. The carbon dioxide is primarily responsible for temperature rise in the atmosphere. Burning coal and oil increases carbon dioxide. As a result, the ice covering the north and south poles is melting and may eventually lead to a rise in sea levels which can flood many areas of the world. Scientists have already given warming that some parts of coastal countries including Bangladesh may go underwater due to the greenhouse effect. The total area of deserts is increasing day by day. Many animals and plants are endangered with the threat of extinction. In order to protect ourselves from its catastrophic impact and to prevent global warming, we should take some effective measures. Therefore, the deliberate cutting down of forests must be stopped. Govt. as well as NGOs should start more tree plantation programs. Govt should take steps to put an end to the causes and sources of emitting carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
